LGBTQIA+ COUPLE’S COUNSELLING

MEDITATION TEACHING & FACILITATION

LGBTQIA+ affirming, non-pathologising, social justice-oriented therapy for individuals and couples.

At Inner Expanse, I offer LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy and couples counselling via telehealth, available to individuals and couples across Melbourne and Australia. My practice is explicitly queer-affirming, non-pathologising, and grounded in a social justice framework that recognises the real impact of systemic oppression, discrimination, and minority stress on mental health and relationships.

STEADY MIND, OPEN HEART, LOVING RELATIONSHIPS

A smiling woman with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a dark shirt and white pants, sitting on a sheepskin rug on a stool in a cozy room with bookshelves, plants, and a Thangka of Green Tara in the background, holding a mug.

Our human experience is much like the ocean - vast, deep, changing, and a sense that a lot of what inhabits inside is unknown. We also host an entire ecosystem of life within - an interdependent tapestry of thought, feeling, emotion and sensation.

At times, we may feel washed around by the tides of our emotion, as if we were at the mercy of an uncontrollable force within. The habituation of reactivity clouds our perception, closes our heart and leaves us feeling alone and disconnected. We are lost at sea and don’t know what will guide us back to shore.

Just as the ocean is moved by the winds and the moon, we too are moved by those around us. Relationships are the heartbeat of our experience - we largely depend on others for our happiness, survival and wellbeing, and what we say and do impacts one another. Relationships shape our personal histories, experiences of oppression and how safe we feel in the world. Our very physiology is influenced by those around us.

The pathway to our healing is relational and it begins with examining how we relate to ourself.

The heart of my work is about supporting people to challenge reactivity and break cycles of disconnection through trauma-informed, non-pathologising and social justice-oriented psychotherapy and relationship therapy.

I’m honoured to be a queer-centred, neurodivergent affirming and sex worker-allied practitioner.

How I Work

My work draws on several evidence-based, holistic approaches that I weave together depending on what you need:

Internal Family Systems (IFS)— A deeply compassionate model that helps you understand and heal the different "parts" of yourself, including the parts that have had to hide, protect, or perform. Especially powerful for clients carrying experiences of anxiety, shame and self-rejection.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)— One of the most well-researched approaches for couples, helping you and your partner(s) identify unhelpful patterns, rebuild secure attachment, and create shared meaning of historical hurt.

Somatic Approaches — Recognising that our experiences manifest in the body, not just the mind. Somatic work helps you reconnect with your body and process what talk therapy alone sometimes can't reach.

Contemplative Science & Mindfulness— Drawing on both Western psychology and contemplative traditions to support present-moment awareness, nervous system regulation, and a deeper relationship with yourself.

Telehealth Therapy Across Melbourne & Australia

All sessions at Inner Expanse are offered via telehealth, making it easy to access affirming, specialised support wherever you are in Melbourne or across Australia — without the pressure of sitting in a waiting room or travelling across the city.

Telehealth is secure, private, and just as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns. Many clients find it easier to open up from the comfort and safety of their own space.

Some folks who live rurally may also prefer online therapy as it brings greater opportunity to connect with aligned practitioners they may otherwise not have access to in their region.

Reconnect to a safe, grounded and loving refuge within.
